Born and raised in Winnipeg, Don graduated from the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, in 2003.

While at Dalhousie, Don attained the highest standing in Equity and Trusts, and he was awarded the Donald G. Grant bursary for demonstrating interest in the area of Wills and Trusts or Estate Planning, a demonstrable interest in public service, and achieving a satisfactory academic standing.

After law school, Don returned to Winnipeg, and in 2004 he established his legal practice in the West Kildonan area of Winnipeg.

Don is a member of the Law Society of Manitoba and the Canadian Bar Association.

In his spare time, Don enjoys canoeing and playing guitar.
